Famous skyline on the verge of a storm… 20 February 2004. And I had the nerve to dangle an arm whilst an 85(i think) kph run.

Sorry Manila. Favoring a bougainvillea backdrop in a zoological garden.

Folk study.

Papa’s “wisdomous” eyes in focus.

Mama-san against the light.

A threat to De Beers.

Valentine’s Day has come and passed yet again. Tradition remains, so we all know it’ll come again next year. What else is the gyst of all the fuss goin’ on? It’s so obvious, it sounds so corny saying it - love. And what better icons for love than the usual blood-red roses and sparkling stones for engagements. Which brings me to my brief blabber about DIAMONDS.
=================
Diamonds are being manufactured now. It’s surely published somewhere in the internet, but I read a bit of it in Newsweek, on it’s Valentine’s Day cover “Fake Reals”. Heat and pressure after all, can now almost be mimicked in a controlled environment (there are 2 ways to do it, one is in a ceramic container, then it comes out as a diamond sheet, and the rocks are carved from it; the other way I can’t rememeber…) so why not mimic the way diamonds are born? So simple… and yet, still unbelievable. Imagine the price of these rocks dropping like anvils from the sky? That’d be eternal damnation to the big miners like De Beers.

The fake-but-real rocks pass the hardness (scratch) test, being a 10 (meaning only other diamonds can scratch them) , though they still lack the natural cut of the crystal, but the clarity they say in Newsweek is good. Though they have yet to find out how to manufacture those diamonds which are colored…

Most delinquent gender.

Just a bit of note.

In the recent segmented *delinquency report I’m doing, (I know reports of this kind are confidential, but I think (crosses fingers) there’s no harm to share this itsy bit of fact.) one percent of our approved clients indicated “others” under the “gender” field of their application forms. You’d think, “so what?” right? But then, they are the most delinquent of the “genders”. I didn’t notice it before, but when I checked, this fact is consistent for the past months (and statistically far from the second most delinquent, which I will not share here). Which… I think… brings to question the trustworthiness of those who are driven to actually submit, officially in paper, that they are, in fact, of the third sex.

*For those who will ask, delinquency would pertain to payment discipline.

Living in sunshine with the shades pulled down.

Even saints make their mistakes
Letting their dreams fall and break
All it feels like
Living in sunshine with the shades pulled down
Now I want you to see
How good life can be
You can turn around
And better your life
With the good times found
-Better than Ezra

It’s hard to live life when you feel like time is just passing by. Hardly with any meaning. Is it any good to look ahead?

I think that no one can achieve peace unless one begins to look at life in present tense. Prolonging the inevitable is very unsettling.

You never really know what ‘braindead’ means until you’ve been ME the past month.

Reader’s Digest entitles it “Life’s Like That.”

And I’m supposed to get used to this? Swimming in the soup early on must be the key to kicking back and not care. To jump in much later scalds horribly. Maybe our nerve endings grow more sensitive with age. And also we have duller gray matter that our minds grow more selective of what to learn and see.

Sad.

I wonder if I would get used to this. The experiment expires soon.
